The Sujala region
Where we come from
Through this section, Sukshem Foundation seeks to document, celebrate and strengthen the identity and visibility of the Sujala region — the villages across the tehsils of Sujangarh, Bidasar, Chappar, Chadwas, Ladnun and Jaswantgarh in District Churu, Rajasthan.
It is a region whose people have travelled far — to Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Jaipur and beyond, and to Los Angeles, Dubai and further still — and who have kept coming back. The Sujangarh Festival of 2018 brought nearly 950 families home at once. That homecoming is what the Foundation was built on.

Art & Culture
Sujangarh Festival
The Sujangarh Festival of 2018 was, by any measure, historic. Held from 19 to 21 October at Lohia Stadium under the coordination of Shri Rajendra Dadhich, it drew nearly 950 families from across India and abroad. Two grand cultural programmes were staged in a large pavilion before an audience of roughly 10,000.
The festival was supported by the Rajasthan Government’s Department of Tourism, Art & Culture, the Department of Local Self-Governance, the Churu District Administration and the Sujangarh Municipal Council. For the first time, Sujangarh had seen an event of that scale. It left a lasting impression on migrants and residents alike — and out of it came the idea for the hospital.
Education in the region
Institutions within 1.5 km of the hospital site alone include:
- Sona Devi Sethia Girls College
- Adarsh Vidya Mandir School
- Modi’s Public Secondary School
- Kasturba Gandhi Govt. Residential School
- R. R. Jajodia Higher Secondary School
Their proximity is one reason the hospital is expected to attract medical students for internships and training once it is running — and why a medical and nursing college is proposed for a later stage.
